Gratitude Gallery (10/01/16 – 11/23/17)
Ladies & Gentlemen – may I present the very important people of Black Sheep Farm. Either visiting dignitaries, or hired hands or neighbor/friend hybrids, I would not have gotten this far without the listening, the encouraging, the helping and the hilarity generously given from these folks. Every one of these people can take credit for my lack of abandoning the project and/or having a catastrophic breakdown. Mad respect and gratitude beyond measure.

Dockton Locals: Neighbor-Friends
Lisa, Paul and OG Zach: Thee Witherspoons – Many degrees of separation vanished very quickly as Thee Witherspoons almost instantly became my greatest friends and allies in Vashon Island’s micro-community: Dockton. There really aren’t enough words to express how much they mean to me and how lucky I’ve been that they have been there for me.
Kristine & Rick Dahms: Next door neighbors, my only (kinda lame) excuse for not having photos of Rick and Kristine is that Rick’s a renown photographer in his own right and Kristine and I always have something going on. Every photo in this collection that features a horse (Wynn) or pony (Rosie) is, in fact, of the Dahms farm. Here are their goats, Seamus and Dashiell that provide constant entertainment and shenanigans! Not featured: images of months and months on end having to impose on their bathroom facilities (and you are welcome for that!). Another 5-Star Gratitude rating!
Also remiss – photos of the down-the-way neighbors and friends, the Kranjcevich family – Jona, Brett, Abby and Chet – all of whom have been very gracious and helpful, considering….Well, you see, Black Sheep Farm was, in it’s former lifetimes, Milt Kranjcevich’s place, Brett’s father, and before that, Milt’s father. It was a multi-generation family farm and it’s a bit tricky to be the non-Kranjcevich owner/caretaker now. I am VERY grateful that the family has been supportive and helpful. They’ve shared the family history, solved some mysteries and are evidently happy I’ve chosen to restore it as opposed to bulldozing it. I truly believe the ghost of Milt Kranjcevich still resides at Black Sheep Farm and he and all the family will always be welcome.
BLACK SHEEP!
Last but hardly least, the three black sheep that live on the westside neighboring farm. The still don’t want anything to do with me, but they have a very plodding, simple, sedate way about them that I really appreciate. Someday – I may learn from them!
